Default Cutting rosette channels

This is a follow up question to this thread, which is old and I’m guessing is reason I can’t just reply to it.

Does anyone have any comparison of end mills vs downcut spiral bits? I’m looking at some sources such as precise bits and drill bit city.

I plan to use these either in a foredom or laminate trimmer.

Thanks, Jon

I use a down cut solid carbide bit (1/16" or 1/8" from StewMac) with a Dremel. I remove the router base and use one I made up specifically for cutting rosette channels.

Either one is a good choice imho. I've used both but mostly stick with end mill bits.
