That is a great song. What key does David teach it in? I play a version arranged by Stefan Grossman. He plays it in E.

As for me I’m currently working on Crow Jane and Hey Hey. Much farther along on Hey Hey but definitely not fully under my fingers as I found out when I played it again after mostly working on Crow Jane for a while. It’s fun to work on two songs in the same key with one being alternating bass and one being monotonic bass.

Hi David, the Hamburger arrangement is in the key of D and he uses drop D.

Thanks for crediting Townes Robin; I was about to do the same.

I've worked up a version of Doolley's Farm by Molly Tuttle that a Dobro playing friend and I or going to do tomorrow night at an open mic.

I'm going to work on this one for Halloween - plenty of time to prepare, even though it's starting to look like Christmas in places.

I just learned "Portland Woman" by The New Riders of the Purple Sage. Four chords, it couldn't be much easier. I still need to memorize it, but it worked right away for me, the first time I tried it. I used to see these guys in concert back in the day.

Working on Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud"
But mainly for a vocal exercise, I like to push myself out of my comfort zone..So I pick songs that push me hard... I still need to drop it 3 keys to be able to hit the high notes,

Still working the bugs out of "Everything I own" David Gates/Bread

Both songs above, you have to be able to transition from your chest to your head voice through out the songs... something I need to get better at...

Pancho and Lefty is done and I'll re-record it all the way through and post it

Amarillo by Morning and Witchita Lineman.

Ivor Sorefingers is one of my favorite you tube teachers. I wonder what guitar he uses. It has phillips screws in the fret board
