I have a 1965 Gibson J-45 with the same case original to it. I hadn’t seen that color before either, in fact yours is the only other one. So, maybe it was specific to 65 only, therefore somewhat rare to see.

Great case too. The "Emerald Green" interior looks quite "Regal"! |

I'm a bit surprised that anyone would think that's red spruce. Your original post mentioned that an inquiry was sent to Martin about this, but it looks like it's been removed - did they ever write back?

Well, as I said in my OP; I personally had no idea, so I asked two experts their opinions & that's what their take was.... As far as Martin Guitars; Yes, I heard back from Martin just yesterday & have amended my post accordingly.

Beautiful. D21s are such gems of the vintage guitar world. Aesthetic is so sharp, and the Brazilian bridge gives it such a nice tone. I sold a ‘57 I sure miss. Yours is pretty. Good luck all.

I saw its a 1-11/16 nut. Do you have neck 1st and 10th fret thickness measurements? V-profile?

Hi;
Yes, Typical Martin 1-11/16" nut width. As for the neck, I'd say "Soft V". Neck thickness @ 1st fret- 7/8" (22.5mm) Neck Thickness @ 10th fret- 1-1/16" (27 mm) Please see pics |

I've had a few questions about action & saddle height.
As you can see in these pics the action is Perfect! @ just under 1/8" @ the 12th fret. The saddle has lots to spare 'in case' you'd want to go even lower. String 'break angle' over the saddle is ideal! Neck is nice & straight with just the right amount of relief. If anyone needs any other pics or info; just let me know!
