I virtually always fingerpick, whether I'm doing vocals along with, or not.
I can manage with a flat pick, and whenever I do, it feels like woodworking with an axe, rather than an assortment of chisels. So when the feeling calls for strumming, I just do so with thumb and fingers. Anyway, not to dig on flat picking at all, I'm in awe of the things I see people do that way, it's just not for me. Coolest thing I've seen on AGF for a bit is this thread, people owning up to having worked out technique that doesn't really fit either category, my right hand does what it wants .. it lacks discipline I guess ;-). |

I flatpick, I fingerpick. Sometimes I sing - and I may flatpick or fingerpick whilst singing. All depends on the song. I'd hate to restrict myself to just one style.
