Default ** SOLD ** Martin Custom Shop OM-28 Style, Wild Grain EIR, Adi Top, Adi GE Braces

**** SOLD off furum ****

Up for sale is a mint condition, barely played OM-28 style custom. It features Wild Grain East Indian Rosewood that was selected at the Martin factory by the folks at Guitar Riot. I am the original owner, and I purchased it just last month. I have decided to sell due to some upcoming expenses. It has a beautiful Adirondack Spruce top, as well as Adirondack Golden Era scalloped 1/4" braces. It is just a great guitar, and I'm offering it at a very reasonable price of $2800, which includes shipping, for AGF members. PayPal F&F is the preferred payment method. I am not interested in trades.

Here are a few details. See the pictured spec sheet for the full specs.
  • Adirondack Spruce top
  • Adirondack - Scalloped 1/4'' - Golden Era bracing
  • Solid Wild Grain East Indian Rosewood back and sides
  • Modified Low Oval Neck profile w/PA Taper
  • 1-3/4" Nut width
  • 25.4" scale length
  • 1930 Style Belly- Drop In Saddle

I have the 000 12-fret version of this and it's a super guitar. This one's really nicely priced.

Really cool guitar! I've read that the significance of the GE bracing is more scalloping than the standard 1/4 in braces, making the top more responsive to light touch. I'm curious as to how this would differ in tone from a standard OM-28, apart from the Adi vs. Sitka top. Would you say this has more bass? Overtones? Do you know if the wild grain EIR differs in tone at all from standard EIR?

Thanks!

I don't think the wild grain EIR affects the tone, but I could be completely wrong. It sure is pretty though! I do think the GE bracing adds a bit to the low end, but not sure on the overtones. Tone is so subjective! I would hate to use the wrong words to describe what my ears hear, because a buyer may not describe it the same way and be disappointed. I hope that makes sense.

About the grain affecting the tone, George Lowden states in one of his videos that he believes a strongly figured back and side wood is generally stiffer and therefore can affect tone. FWIW.

It does, I appreciate it. I wish I could take this off your hands.
