I'm not aware of any thumb picking teaching books.
I would suggest watching YouTube videos, like Chet Atkins to get the thumb picking technique down. After you get the technique down, you really don't need to see it on paper. MGF |

I was hoping someone else might make this point because it might sound a bit sarcastic but I've never heard of 'thumb picking'. I have heard of 'finger picking'. Do a search for Finger Picking Tab Books and you'll get loads of responses.

Yes, is there a specific type of fingerstyle you're referring to as "thumb picking", or could be any non-classical style?
Could it, for example, include this? - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bert-Transc.../dp/178558555X (disclaimer: it was mainly me who put that one together.)

I am by no means a "music" guy so please excuse the loose use of these terms. I specifically mean to say music in witch the thumb plays the a bass line part. Mostly solo stuff. Then melody ect is played over top of it using the other fingers. Alternate thumb picking bass ect. Yes like Chet ect. One song I put in my rotation is a good example:

Sorry. In my defense there are some classic songs to learn included in the instructional material.

Try this?
The Art of Solo Fingerpicking by Mark Hanson, or any of his books. There's some instructional content but it's mostly comprised of a bunch of songs to play.

If you like the blues with your alternating bass this book will keep you busy for quite a while. Over 50 tunes all "in the style" of the old time masters. While it has the word "method" in the title, it is not an instructional book per se. You get the sheet music, tab and a recording to follow along with, and a little explanation of the tune and the player who inspired it. I've only been fingerpicking for a few years and find most of the tunes to be challenging.
Woody Mann is one of the great players and teachers, probably deserves more recognition than he gets. https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Acou.../dp/1783052481

Or it’s prequel Contemporary Travis Picking if you want to start with the basics and work up from there.
