But at the same time, I bought a brand new D'Angelico "DC" 335 type that I picked out of 5 on the wall for $386 I think, with the OEM gigbag. $750 to $800 street-price. That's the beauty of GC if you don't need a "big name" guitar. Huge bargains on Ibanez, Gretsch, D'angelico, Yamaha, etc. traditionally shaped guitars on a random schedule.

GC
GC has its place in that if you are looking for a specific make/model, especially a higher end, you are likely to get what you are expecting. Sure, I make the call but after all is done, I got 45 days to return it. I've gotten some pretty good deals by just watching and waiting for the right one. I wouldn't suggest it thru the shipping process for this scenario of not putting my hands on it first.

1) Certainly contact the store that has the item if you have questions. 2) Have more expensive items (guitars, amps) shipped to your local store, regardless of if it's used or new. 3) Open it in the store, regardless of if it's used or new. 4) If there is any issue, reject the item on the spot. 5) Take it home. You have 45 days to return to the store at no cost. |
