Default final attempt at The Entertainer (Scott Joplin) on a Martin 000-18

Hi guys,

Here's my final attempt at Scott Joplin's ragtime classic The Entertainer. The song is probably best remembered from the equally classic 70's movie The Sting. Recorded on my 2003 Martin 000-18MC. From an arrangement by John Knowles, as recorded by Chet Atkins.

I hope you enjoy it because I think this is as good as it is going to get!

Sounds good to me Doug! Great job!

That does not sound like an easy tune, so relax.

Somethings I keep going back to working on, but rarely record them. Each time I go back to them they seem to get a little bit better. Some tunes are like that. I have one in mind that I want to work on again and maybe this time around I'll record it. I think we all have those tunes that are on the edge and will always need a tweaking no matter how long we play them. Its just part of the challenge and fun of playing.

Thanks Barry! I hear what you are saying. I was playing this tune the other day and by some chance I played it probably the best I ever have. So that kind of planted the seed to re-record it.

It's funny but for first time in ~8 years of posting stuff to soundcloud I'm actually pleased (or not totally embarrased) with my recordings.

Beautiful Doug! Great pace, sounds very relaxed which isn’t easy on rags.
