My Bourgeois DR-A. Bought new 20 years ago this month. Used some money I made coaching high school football... it was expensive for a broke grad student.

Nice guitar. My dad has a black '75 standard that sounds awesome. It just feels so heavy around the neck

I've had my Gibson A3 mandolin since 1970. Got my Tele in '73 and my Martin 016NY a year or so later.

The guitar I have had the longest is actually an electric, not an acoustic. It's my 1997 Gibson Blueshawk that I bought new in 1998. Many guitars have come and gone since then but that one always stays with me.

My beautiful Samick Greg Bennett Royale RL2 semi which I've had for around 15 years. (My first real guitar and a present from my wife).

No longer in production (although I'm sure you can still find them), the Greg Bennett Royale series guitars are flawless and were fantastic value for money back in the day.

The effective shelf life of those repairs effectively expired about 10 years ago, and I've decided not to spend the money to have the guitar restored with a new top. Today, it's retired just like it owner, who enjoys the memories it conjures every time I pass by, while it's lovingly on display on my living room wall.

Cat - it's great that you still have it on display. Worth more on a wall then selling for a few bucks.

I bought my first acoustic in Jan 1989, a Yamaha 12 string. I played the heck out of it for those first 10 years and still have it. I have an electric that I've had longer though, a Series A 'cheap' first electric.

I had a 1994 Taylor 912C bought new and sold it in 2017. It spent most of it's time in the case and was mint. I was more into electrics for most of that time. The truss rod cover was never even taken off and the action was still perfect. The new owner was beyond pleased since he bought it off Ebay sight unseen. I took a gamble and started bidding at 1 dollar and it worked out well.

I went to buy a Martin D-28 and the salesman convinced me to buy a 1971 Yamaki Western Deluxe instead. It still looks and sounds pretty good. I blame the salesman to this day.

I bought my Larrivee C-10 new in 1997 and still have it. I have a 1964 Martin D-21 but I've only had it for five years. Neither will ever be sold.

My 1950 Martin D-18 has been with me 69 years. My dad bought it new when I was 10 and it became mine about age 13. Still sounds great. C225545A-F683-4A57-A891-8D7D9D4BFE94.jpg. (Preview shows 2 pix. If True, sorry. )

I'll probably keep it til I take the dirt nap.
Same here with my bought-new 1969 D35. For playing out, I like size and playability of my Eastwood E20-OM.
