I've had my 1969 Gibson Hummingbird for more than 50 years. It was a High School graduation gift from my parents. It's no longer playable due to having a lot of hard miles on it, including having its top severely damaged in an airline baggage compartment in the early 70's which required extensive repair and reinforcement. The effective shelf life of those repairs effectively expired about 10 years ago, and I've decided not to spend the money to have the guitar restored with a new top. Today, it's retired just like it owner, who enjoys the memories it conjures every time I pass by, while it's lovingly on display on my living room wall.

Thanks! It was sold locally and I keep an eye out for it, but most likely long gone. Another look at the sb...

Ooooo.... that's even better! Thanks for the close-up. I played a buddy's LP years ago and it was super sweet. I really enjoyed it. It was also lovely... but I don't think it was THIS gorgeous!

All my acoustic guitars are pretty new to me. I've had the Taylor Classical for about 15 years (I think), but the Martin and Lowden have only been around a couple years. But I'm starting to think I've beaten GAS (yes, famous last words).

My oldest guitar is my Gibson ES 345 that I purchased used in the early 70's. Lots of miles on that one. It was the same process: keep playing and trading until I found happiness.

I still have my Yamaha FG335II I bought new in '81, when I started college. Was replacing a previous Yamaha that was gifted to me that I left in Alaska when I bailed up there, it was a take the guitar or take the dog issue, and I took the dog. The 335 still plays great, has mega mojo, and has raised 3 kids and now entertaining a couple of grandkids.

I still have a Martin D-28 that I bought new in 1972 but it’s on permanent loan to my best friend and playing partner. The guitar that’s been continuously in my possession the longest is my 1987 Schoenberg Soloist, also purchased new.

Had a G&L Broadcaster for 32 years. The acoustic that's been with me the longest (almost 14 years) is a Takamine EF417S.

Purchased my used 2002 J45 Rosewood in 2010 for $900. Bought and sold a dozen or more since but this one will never leave me.

I've had my 1998 Guild JF-30 since 2002. I recently realized that all my acoustics are at least 7 years old, with my 2012 Martin being the newest.
