2012 Taylor 110
Hey all,
I saw a 2012 Taylor 110-ce Natural / Sapele Acoustic/electric along with gig bag on sale today on Facebook for $575 listed in excellent condition Do you all think this is a good deal or should I ask for a lower price? Ask also anything specific I should look for if I do purchase? |

I've never bought a Taylor, but I watch the guitar prices and I think you can do better. Unless that one is minty, I'd offer $450 and see what happens.
https://reverb.com/price-guide/guide...e-2012-natural Look for fret wear on the first 5 frets on the high e and b strings. A little wear is not a deal breaker but will give some negotiating power on the asking price. Also make sure the battery box is there and functions as it should.

And look for signs the guitar has not dried out.
The market for that guitar is small and that gives you more room to negotiate in your favor since it will be hard to sell. There are a lot of guitars at that price point. Good luck in your search...keep it fun.

I agree with YamahaGuy & hotroad. Check the guitar well and $450 is the right price.

Of the Taylor 100/200 series, the dred bodies (110/210) seem to be the least popular with more folks gravitating toward the GA body (114/214). This is to your benefit as I think there is more wiggle room in the asking price. If you've got the patience to wait it out, I think a polite counter offer will likely work in your favor.
These 100/200s, btw, are stellar guitars and often overlooke (if not straightup poo pooed) by many. They have all the build quality and stellar playability of their higher-priced brethren without excuse! FWIW, I own a 210 that is a stellar sounding dred that compares very favorably with others on my wall at 5x the cost. Great guitars these that need no apologies, and an even better value used, IMHO. I agree with Edward. I have a 210ce that knocks socks off.
