Default Best guitar playing chair ever!!!

....designed for outdoor use but works indoors just fine...I just picked one up yesterday and it is super comfortable and the rocking feature allows you to position yourself just so....it’s not super low like some camping chairs....a little pricey but I have never found anything like it....

Dang! That looks so right up my alley!!! Could have used this last weekend at my son's baseball tourney. Wonder if they'll go on sale?

Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks, my last camp chair wore out so I think I'll invest in one of these.

I bought 3 not to dissimilar ones, designed for "backpacking". Now, I am not likely to backpack a chair, but I take them to festivals and canoeing and they work OK for guitar playing too. The OP's chair is significantly taller, which helps, and of course has the rocker, which I wouldn't need, but some would love. I can see why you would love it. But it's 14 lbs; mine are close to 1 lb. and I can stow them easily in my gig bag.

Either way, REI is a great company and handles only quality-made items. They stand behind what they sell too. I've dealt with them for 55 years.

I’ve never seen me a guitar-playing chair.

I wonder what kind of guitar John’s playing in that photo?

Get a cheap drum throne with adjustable height if you really need something dedicated to playing your instrument. There's no need to spend fortunes on those bespoke 'guitar chairs' that do nothing different. I use a kitchen chair, and I have a choice of four

...it’s a camping chair.....I have a Roc n Soc with backrest...it’s nice but not something I would take out camping..or even to a neighborhood jam session or sing along....and this rei rocker is more comfortable...no need to spend a fortune on anything...I often play my guitar with no chair at all...I was just passing along what I feel is a great product for folks that take their guitars to camp outs and festivals...and I will likely sit in it more often without a guitar....

...and for the record “best guitar playing chair ever” is just a way of saying I really like it...in reality there is no best chair for everybody....or guitar......I would hope that we all acknowledge that....

I picked up a glider rocker at the local thrift store for a few bucks...cut the arms off and made gussets to reinforce the back risers. Works great!

I had a Roc-N-Soc with backrest and sold it. Very uncomfortable for guitar playing and studio desk. These chairs lean you a bit forward and are really made for a drummer. The backrest also does not go back far enough. I would not recommend a Roc-N-Soc for guitar playing!
