I took a trip to Los Angeles to visit my grandparents and came back to a huge back log of boring work. I finally managed to take the Olsons out of their cases and decided to take the Tree SJ for another spin.

Here's my arrangement of "Londonderry Air" (aka "Danny Boy"):

Thank you for listening.

Thank you so much. It was really nice to have you play something familiar. I feel I could appreciate your playing even more than I do already....I think I will be trying to work on that one myself. Thanks again.

Ahhhh, my morning cup of coffee......a nice Friday......AGF......OH BOY, Mau's posted another one!
That was simply beautiful.....such a creative interpretation, while holding the lovely melody the whole way. So clean with beautiful phrasing, Mau.
Congrats on another winner!
Enjoy the day,
Fred

Smile So pretty!

Jeez! Thanks for the beautiful rendition of one of the best melodies ever written!

Lovely tone, phrasing and the courage to play slowly ...

What an axe, too!!!

Cheers

Paul

Thank you, Dennis. My previous attempt was terrible so I needed to "fix" that. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I know many folks would rather hear me play well known pieces but I try to be careful when choosing my covers. At the risk of being ignored, I'd rather post my obscure originals...

In any case, my guitar is tuned in EBD#F#BD# if you want to give it a shot.

Thanks for listening, Tom.

Thanks for your comment, Fred. I initially recorded a couple of test versions where I mostly played double stops but realized that I preferred single notes with more vibrato. I'm holding the bass with my thumb for the most part so that allowed me more freedom with phrasing.

Thank you, Paul. The build thread for this guitar was started almost five years ago. I can't believe I've had my Tree SJ for four years already. Time flies... Sigh...

Jim did a great job on this guitar and I'm still amazed every time I pick it up.

OK next time for sure. I'll be back in 5-6 months.

I usually stay at the Hyatt in Long Beach and my family is in San Gabriel/El Monte.

I always underestimate the traffic in LA (and overestimate the number of activities I can do) but NZ fish is on top of my list...

Cool Mau, keep in touch... and man, what an Olson... Of course, the way you play yours seems to help too...😜
