Default New here...hello!

Hi!

Just joined today and thought I'd say hello and introduce myself.

I'm a middle aged guy that's been playing guitar since his teens. I used to play mostly electric guitar and did so in a number of bands. For the past year I've been drawn to my acoustic guitar and have been playing that mostly.

I'm an active member in a number of other guitar related forums and decided that since I've been doing the "acoustic thing" lately, I should check this community out .

I look forward to chatting with all you nice folks!

Keep in mind, around these parts "middle-aged" is somewhere between 60 & 80. That's a good thing! I feel almost sprightly at 59!

Welcome to the AGF!

Welcome Mr. Squid!

We have some great screen names, and can now add yours to that list.

With 8 arms I presume you play fingerstyle

Well thank you! I have to come clean and say my screen name is not original. Any of you that have younger kids or even teens that were into Minecraft may be familiar with a YouTuber called StampyCat. One of his regular sidekicks was a fella named iBallisticSquid. I always thought it was a great name. When I found myself wanting to be a bit more anonymous with my internet presence, I decided to adopt the name, but dropped the "i".

The name stuck so I use it everywhere. When coming up with a name for my recording projects I tried many names, but "squid" kept coming back. So for that, my recording space (aka my basement) has become known as Suburban Squid Studios.

With 8 arms I should be able to play fingerstyle, but I'm a flatpicker.

Oh man, that conjures up something I can’t unthink now.

Welcome Squid, lots of good things going on here, and a few that’ll leave you wondering what’s going on. Ha, ha.
