Well I changed over to the custom lights. Granted there's new string syndrome in play here, but WOW. The guitar was sweet before on the PBs but it's an absolute cannon strung with the retros, and retains that sweet tone and sustain.

I'm really excited by these - my experience of retro .12s on my D17 is that they don't have the sort of shimmer that some other options give but they play in really nicely and project very well.

On the 000 28 the custom lights are phenomenal straight away. Incredibly responsive. Looking forward to see how they play in.

I've used D'Addario Nickel Bronze on mine for the last couple of years and really like them. That's another suggestion.
