Original: Klaxon Calls
Firstly my apologies, this is one of my only songs with no acoustic guitar but hopefully that's allowed! Song co-written with my friend Angus Gibson. Feedback much appreciated.
Lyrics The klaxon calls resound through town from all the factories One refines the blubber from the great whales of the sea Another sorts the imports from the far-flung colonies All the spices and the sugar and the cotton and the tea Whilst the wealth is swiftly swallowed by the lords of industry There’s nothing left for to trickle down to our families Great men rise and great men fall though power stays the same It’s in their hands and not in ours and we’re the ones to blame Once I was a union man but I gave up the game Men unite but never fight, we’re comrades just in name The only thing that’s certain is that this will never change Hopelessness puts out the flames, the song remains the same The shuffling feet of beaten men so tired they fear they’ll fall The nimble hands of seamstresses in ragged overalls The hack and wheeze of sickly workers in the dusty halls This is all they’ll ever know, there’s nothing else at all Just the piercing ululating screams of factory klaxon calls This is all they’ll ever know, there’s nothing else at all Just the piercing screams of factory klaxon calls This is all they’ll ever know, there’s nothing else at all |

Wee bump with another song from this album we're working on. Someone described it as "pirate rock", I like that.
