That looks like the Epiphone semi-hardshell case that used to come with the guitars...
Exactly right, guitarmy.

Interestingly enough, this is a non-"E" example -- no electronics and, thus, no undersaddle strip of piezo pickup element -- so, no interference with the transfer of string vibrations from saddle to bridge and beyond.

Nice guitar. I have the same one. Bought it from a member here on the board about 3.5-4 years ago around the time my daughter was born. It's stamped 2nd but I can't tell the difference. It also had a Baggs system in it. Love it. I'm now looking to add a DR500 to the mix.

I'll try to post a pic or two of it later this weekend.

Welcome to the Masterbilt club. I own three of them...and they are three of the finest guitars I've ever owned.

Thanks, guys, she's still goin' strong! Am thinking about having the satin finish completely buffed out to an all over gloss, and also replacing the pickguard with one that's a more traditionally "Gibson"-shaped firestripe style.

That is one beautiful guitar! It ooozzes mojo from those vintage tuners/headstock to the nice burst. I'd love to hear what it sounds like. Any sound or YouTube samples?

Congrats for sure!

Don't have the facilities -- or the chops! -- to make samples you'd find useful.

Digging up an old thread, I just purchased an 05 build AJ-500-RVS and was wondering if you ever had yours buffed out? I'm interested to see the vintage sunburst with the buffed gloss. Every pic of the rosewood back and sides looks fantastic, but no pics of the sunburst.

I have been looking for a good fitting case for mine. Did yours come with the guitar or did you get it separately? What kind of a case it is? I bought one a while ago from Sweetwater and the fit was horrible.

Mine had a satin finish which I recently buffed out to a nice gloss and it really looks great. It also made the repair a little less apparent.

Congrats on the new guitar.

Jim
I got this case for my AJ500MENS and it fits perfectly snug and has a notch out part for the electronics.

Not to be rude but you have responded to a post made in 2013. But maybe the poster is still looking for a case.

However I have the same case and it fits my AJ500MNS perfectly.
