Pend Oreille is indeed known for trophy Rainbow (Gerrard strain) trout, and has the boasting rights for the record 37 lb .

Kamchatka in Russia has streams with consistent 19 to 28 inch Rainbows and is considered by many experts to be the region of origin, for Rainbow trout.


And here is a shot of a pretty nice bow from a small shallow stream, in a "shall remain undisclosed" location in the Rockies
