I have a '97 Buick LeSabre. 102,000 miles. New tires. Never been raced. Only $50,000 will put that classic in your garage.

Sorry, but it's hard to believe that a car like that has NEVER been raced....

I agree. I paid about 1/4 of the asking price for mine.

I'm the same way. I've been able to do almost all of the repairs on my truck myself. It still has several things to be fixed, but it's to the point that as long as it keeps running, I'm going to keep driving it.

Although mine had quite a few more miles, I paid about 1/4 of the asking price of these.

GenXers and Millenials feel the same about ‘80s, ‘90s and newer because their nostalgia lies in those years, plus they don’t have the experience pre-enviro regs and real performance. I agree. I absolutely love the old, boxy Chevy trucks from the 80s. I would pay decent money for an old K5 Blazer or a pre-1997 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 YJ. I love the box shape, but they are hard to find without lift kits and huge mud tires. With that said, these old boxy vehicles are a break from the "oval" cars.

Now THOSE two vehicles definitely have a huge popularity tax associated with them!

I'd love to have a 1994-1998 Toyota Supra turbo (MKIV), but they are huge, huge money these days.

Is that due to street racing?

Yeah, more or less. It seems the movie "Fast and Furious" initiated the trend.

That looks just like one we rented for a long ago trip to St. Louis. Trust me. It was raced but we did make make our flight home on time.

Closer to topic. I have baby boomer associates who are nostalgic and others who are indifferent when it comes to motor vehicles. I think it's driven by life style. A few of us have agreed we used to be far more into motor vehicles but that's dropped while our biological clocks are ticking. We're in pursuit of our sports and adventures right now. I can see vehicles being more interesting beyond transportation at some point in the future.
