Default Where to hear songs

I buy more cd's than anyone I know, so, it's not like I don't contribute to songwriters royalty funds! I sometimes need to hear a song that I might want to learn for gigs but I can't find it on youtube. I go to Amazon, I am a prime member, but, apparently, Prime does not include their 2mm song catalog and is another $8/month. I don't want to buy any subscription service for music. As I said, I buy plenty of cd's. Where can I hear songs or download them? Like, right now, am interested in Don Henly's "A Month of Sundays."

Not sure if you're familiar with www.chordie.com or not, but they normally have a link to an audio file of any song they have listed.
I came across this link for you.
https://www.jango.com/music/Don+Henl...id_jangoplayer

Further to that, here is the Chordie page with the song lyrics and supposed chords.
https://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/w...ey/116701.html
Be warned, some are very accurate, others are so far away from the original it's not funny!!

That last link does have it, I could not find it! Now, I remember that song. If anyone has other sources for finding pretty much any popular song, would like to know. Thank you.

Hmmm, not sure why the second link didn't work, but that happens I guess.
That website has heaps of songs, and is now my first stop for tracking down a song for me to learn. If I can't find what I'm after there as a starting point, then I start hitting up Youtube.
Good luck with the search.

Hi Bill,

I am pretty much in the same situation as you are. I still buy CDs.

I have my favorites who I look out for. For example, the latest Mark Knopfler album, I think, is quite good. I have all of his albums and all of the Dire Straits' albums, too. But I do think Mark's latest is quite good.

Darrell Scott's album "A Crooked Road" is a very good double album set, as another example.

I get a lot of my ideas from the AGF. The LISTEN section of the AGF has some ideas, for example.

Sometimes using services like Spotify or Pandora and setting up channels based on music you like will result in their plugging in music of a similar nature that I have not heard before. I have found music from these services that I enjoyed where I then found the cd on Amazon and ordered it.

Also, some of the folks on the AGF are well worth listening to. I have all of Howard Emerson's CDs, some of Eric Skye's CDs, all of Larry Pattis's CDs, a CD from Michael Watts, a couple of Toby Walker's CDs, as just a few examples.

I hope this helps a little.

- Glenn

I find many CD's in our county library system. I take it out and play it a few times. If I really like it I buy it.

Spotify has tons of music. You can play entire albums there.

I have discovered many unknown (to me) artist in the acoustic/Americana genre at Radio Heartland.

https://www.thecurrent.org/listen/heartland

They play nonstop commercial free Acoustic/roots/blues/Americana. No banter, which I sorta miss as a radio junkie.

Another free form online channel is Radio Free Phoenix.

http://radiofreephoenix.com/whatsup/listen/

Free Form Rock, Andy Olson built this from the ashes of Phoenix free form radio and does a darn good job.

I can't get Pandora to work for me, it's like a computer trying to act like it has taste and it feels fake to me as an old radio junkie.

Look into your local college's radio stations... Quite a few post the genre list on line and stream the daily shows.

I'm a Henley fan and have never heard of this song. Went to Youtube and searched...couldn't find it. Anyone have a link to the recording of this song?
