Isn't there basically a penalty on every play, holding or whatever?
No game is decided by one play or one penalty. |

Should have never had too, that’s my point.

Brutal non-call. Watch for a rule change this off season on what can be reviewed. Also, someone needs to be fired for that non-call, if not multiple officials.
I'll watch the SB though - except for half time. That I'll skip. |

I haven't watched the NFL in probably 5 or 6 years so I don't even know who is playing or still in the running for the SB. I do, however, find threads like this about playoffs and officiating fascinating for some odd reason.

Everybody has made good points as to how many things affect a game etc., but looking at that call just alone, it has to be one of the worst no calls I have ever seen in my entire life and I have played or been involved with football for over 50 years. In fact, there were two penalties there, the interference which was completely overt and a hit to the head on the receiver, either or both should have been called. We are not talking a touchy PI call, he hit the guy before the ball arrived, with his back turned to the ball and made it impossible for the Saint receiver to make a play on the ball completely cutting him off. Terrible call, one of the worst I have ever seen, top five for sure.

Which makes no sense to me as PI is the same as a catch.

personally, i dont care if the rams contacted them with a bathroom sink, im glad they lost, ever since that crap putting a hit contract on favre in the super bowl, and that coach knew about it, i dont care if they ever win another game as long as he's still there, they get no sorrow from me

The announcers appeared to know Brady was throwing to Rob Gronkowski that set up their win. The play appeared to catch KC off guard.

I will not watch the Superbowl either.
But it's not because of that call. Last edited by Murphy Slaw; 01-22-2019 at 07:14 AM. Reason: political content |

He may have been thinking “Hey, maybe the refs will not call me on it for whatever reason, I’ll take the gamble.” And he did....and he won the dice toss. This guy should go to Vegas in the off season.

I watched the same scenario at least twice with Peyton Manning. His teams played technical ball, not relying on pushing the limits with the refs. Twice they clearly lost to teams that pushed the rules in order to accomplish their win. That's when I learned that the refs intentionally attempt not to be the deciding factor more and more as the post-season advances.
I finally had to get over it or become embittered by a silly sport. This is one of those sad, "It is what it is" things in life. Oh, well. There's always next year. Now, I'm still struggling to settle on a team since Peyton's gone. Not the Colts - they treated Peyton so badly. His brother? Hmmm... My wife is from Jersey but even she is frustrated by the Giants. In search of. Bob

Well, before the call, NO should have not passed on first down and let the clock run so LA would have to use one of their time outs. Then do the same again and kick the FG. The time out gave LA the break needed to tie the game. Coaching also played into the loss.....my mileage is not very good for this but....
