haven't worn a watch for years. don't need one as i have a phone that has the time on it. i don't have to worry about taking it off when i'm working on something that may scratch it and don't have to replace the band when it wears out.
play music!

My timepiece of choice, coming up on 20 years. I still wear it every day.

I like watches, don't have a smart phone - well I bought one but it was crap so only use it for calling home and switch it off.
I'm a bit retro, (I mean I'm nearly an antique myself) I like chronographs although I don't really need one, and I like square or rectanglar watches. I don't go for expensive brands - preferring Rotarys.

Watches
I find that phone/computers seem to have made wristwatches obsolete. They are, however a male jewelry item.
My daily watch is a Casio Pathfinder Solar in a great shade of lime green. I also have a Bremont F-4 Phantom Special edition MB1 and a Bell&Ross BR01. Both aviation-type watches are very special. I have bought and sold more watches than I can remember but always go back to simple elegance and readability. |

Some nice watches here.
All I wear is a basic Citizen Eco-Drive. Nice bold black on white face that's easy to read and it never needs service. |

I have had some nice watches over the years. When we retired (almost 12 years ago), I quit wearing a watch for a couple years... I guess it was my way to say I was done with all those years of living by a schedule. We spent a couple years cruising on our boat, using the sun as our "schedule maker": sun up, time to get up and take on the day; sun high in the sky, time for lunch; setting sun, time for an adult beverage; sun down, time to wind down for the evening.
After a couple years, my wife commented about "those nice watches not being used." I pulled them out, and decided to start wearing a few of them again. While working a summer boat job contract 2 1/2 years ago, she bought me an Apple Watch. I received work related texts frequently and was impressed with how the Apple Watch made that faster and easy to reply. I could have weather info on my wrist. The more I've used it, the more uses for it I find. I haven't worn my other watches since getting the Apple Watch. I have worn it in all kinds of weather, and doing physical work. It never misses a beat. When I cross time zones, it adjusts itself. It gives me reminders. You can set up text replies for your most frequent responses (Copy that), and send them immediately. I don't have to pull my phone out of my pocket to respond or check a message. It is durable and smart. Yes, a Series 1. I bought one for my wife after that. She loves it; in fact, she bought a second one (rose gold). She likes the "easy change" bands. A regular ol' watch (no matter how fancy) doesn't do it for me anymore. |

I wear an IWC, usually with the leather strap. Much more discreet and socially acceptable to glance at in meetings than pulling my iphone out!

My dad is a retired mechanical engineer and introduced me to their beauty a couple decades ago when he started working on them as a hobby. The craftsmanship is really second to none. Before the advent of the cell phone, I'd rotate between two (white gold/yellow gold) daily for many years. I would smile every time I looked at that double-sunk dial while checking the time. Beautiful and functional...just like a finely made guitar!

I've worn this every single day since 1987. It's the only piece of jewelry that I own. It's been in snow, in cold weather, hot weather, 180 feet under water, and has never missed a beat. Rolex Datejust

Yes, the watch industry has to watch out he he he.... I’m sure some recent news I read on Swiss watch industry having a better quarter or year is temporary. More important, do you do the sharing and does your wife beat you closing the rings? I’ve got two calories to go. Maybe going downstairs and standing vs sitting with a guitar will do it.

I fall into the cell phone crowd as well. I have a couple of nice watches but haven't pulled them out of the drawer in years, probably never will again.
