Default Breedlove bridge doctor influence.

I wonder how many folks have sold their Breedlove, because it lacked magic. I've adjusted two used Master Class Breedloves that initially sounded meh. One had tension so relaxed, the doctor was hanging as a dead weight, putting the top to sleep. The other's screw was turned so tightly, certainly a full 360 too much, that it had choked off the top. Once adjusted to a gentle firmness, both achieved the grand piano presence one would expect.

That was one nuance of the BD that needed attention. The cedar topped Breedlove concert I had was sensitive to RH and the BD adjustment. When both were right, it was piano-like.

Same here. I bought a used Exotic Fingerstyle and was initially disappointed with the volume. Did the adjustment the BD and now it's got the sweet tone I was expecting from Breedlove.

I just got a used Stage Concert with a BD. The guitar really sounds great, but I want to experiment with the BD. It would be nice to get a tad more volume from it.

Undersaddle pickup? Used, who knows what the previous owner(s) may or may not have modified. If the saddle has a bowed underside or uneven contact with the transducer, the bridge doctor won't have an effect on that. If you're not going to use the pickup, consider pulling all of it out. I've run across pickup wires that were hung in ways that pulled down on the top. Look into a tusq saddle for a lusher sound, or a corian saddle for increased volume.

Oregon Series also do not have the JDL.

I rather like the JDL equipped Breedloves. My American Series is the most responsive guitar I own.
