Default D-Tar Wavelength - where has it gone!?!

Hello,

I have a Martin OM-1 (not GT) that I've been gigging for a couple of years. To cut a long story short...I want to try the D-Tar Wavelength in this guitar.

However, it seems to have disappeared from shops, at least here in the UK!

Does anyone know where I can get one in the UK? I'm after an affordable high-headroom undersaddle transducer.

BTW I'm not after the K&K sound, it's nice but I think too soft to fit into my band mix, where I play fingerpicking alongside Rhodes, Sax and Drums.

Many thanks for your help!

Jonny

Seems to be readily available online. Check Shoreline music, Amazon, Seymour Duncan directly, etc.

I love that anyone discussing pickups on AGF are conditioned to proclaim "AND NO, I do not want to switch to a K&K" before they're inundated with that very recommendation that sidesteps their question.

Keep in mind that DTAR no longer exists as a separate brand. It was always manufactured by Seymour Duncan, and a few years back, Duncan dropped the preamps (Solstic, Mama Bear, Equinox), but kept the core pickup line. They rebranded what remained as Seymour Duncan instead of DTAR. So the Wavelength is now just the Seymour Duncan Wavelength Solo. Same pickup, new name.

Doh! I was googling 'D-Tar Wavelength' and not getting anything for sale in the UK.

'Seymour Duncan Wavelength' comes up with one result in the UK: Guitar Guitar seem to be the only dealer!

No chance of getting a low price then...

There are apparently some old stock D-TAR Wavelehgth systems available in the US. I'm seeing a Musician's Friend ad for them at the bottom of this page.

FWIW, I always thought the Wavelength was an excellent pickup. Users often commented on its "woody" sound. I always thought that it also had a "zippier" responsiveness than most other USTs.

Look for the wavelength duo. It has the UST but you have the option of adding a mic if you want. I had excellent results with this when it was called the DTAR Multisource. Just a turn of the dial at the sound hole turned the mic on or off or a blend of both. That way, when you need a more acoustic sound or playing in a quieter environment you got it.
