Yeah, gotta agree with that.

But among my favorites are a few that are often overlooked:

Do It Again
California Saga
Sail on Sailor

"God Only Knows" is a MASTERPIECE in songwriting, arrangement and production...and I know someone who agrees with my opinion.

OK I couldn't resist, two minutes and forty-six seconds of pure pop joy...

Don't Worry Baby.

In the 60's my 11 month older brother Joe picked the Dodgers and the Beatles. I picked the Angels and Beach boys.
So when My dad brought us down to White Front to buy us each a record my brother Joe bought a Beatle 45.
I chose I Get Around. And my favorite song is the flip side.

This also enlightened me that i could "find" my personal favorites, sometimes on the flip side.
Curiosity, discovery and wearing out the 13$ turn table. With a nickel weight scotch taped on the arm and the occasional 2$ saphire blue needle replacement.
A lot of wear of the vinyl and the hardware.

"Wouldn't it be nice" is pretty wonderful too.

Surprised I haven't seen "California Girls" yet. I think that song defines them.

Already been mentioned but mine are Don't Worry Baby and Wouldn't It Be Nice. I'm also on team Beatles, however.

Warmth of the sun. Check out Vince Gill singing it at the Brian Wilson tribute show. He also does an amazing job on Surfs up with David Crosby joining in

I was never a fan, but Good Vibrations is a fascinating study in studio technique and arrangement. I could do without the Theremin part entirely, however.

My candidate is:

"Sail On, Sailor" off the Holland Album, as sung by Blondie Chaplin.

How many other songs can tie the mythology of Odysseus, the exhaustion of middle age, and the existential toil of American life into a song we can all sing
until we enter assisted living?

Great song!
