Default My Boomerang 3 live looping acoustic pedalboard

After a lot of forum searching for bits and pieces of info, ideas, tips and practical advice here, I thought I'd pay forward what I ended up picking up and implementing for my setup.

For background, I play both solo gigs and as a duo acoustic group where we both alternate singing lead and harmony vocals.

My signal is Guitar -> Tonebone PZ-Pre -> Harmony GXT -> Sub N Up Mini -> Rang 3 Mono IN right and Mono OUT to pedalboard 1/4 OUT jack.

My main vocal signal is Main mic -> Harmony GXT -> to pedalboard XLR OUT jack.

By the way, its not clear from the description, but if you get one of these right angle XLR cables https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
you CAN adjust the right angle clock position by simply unscrewing and gently rotating through to your desired detent.
This allowed me to use the space above the Harmony GXT out for my tuner.

I wired everything using Lava tightrope cables; not a single bad one thus far so I'm happy.

Odds and ends: Donner bluetooth page turner for OnSong, Tonebone tuner out to a PolyTune Mini, and a 9V "The Bright Switch" USB hub:
This also runs from a CIOKS DC10 so I can run charging cables to an old iPhone for a digital clock, to my iPad if the charge is low, and it even came with a small USB powered gooseneck LED light for those dark stages.

My looper vocal is as below:

I use an On Stage GPA 1003 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...8aAmjAEALw_wcB with 3 rocker mic stands.

-One stand for my iPad running OnSong using a Monoprice stand holder.

-One stand for main vocal SM58 described above out to my Touchmix or Tonematch mixer depending on the venue.

-Last one for a Seinnheiser e835 into an impedance transformer https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1,
then a cheap little Donner EQ pedal https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
then into the Mono LEFT input of the Rang 3. That little Donner EQ has really done well, especially for the price! Independent volume and +/- 18dB sliders....not bad.
THIS WORKS PERFECTLY! No signal degradation issues at all.

(The above pic has my main vocal and guitar OUT as well as my looper vocal IN via transformer adapter).

The guitar out of the Harmony GXT runs to the Mono RIGHT input of the Rang 3.

My output cables all are wrapped in this expandable mesh weave so its one simple "roadie wrap" to throw from my spot to the mixer/board/snake.
Cut to the length you need, then wrap the ends with gaffer tape. https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_...seq=1&format=2

Now I need to convince my bandmate to get one for himself!

With this, you can run both a vocal looping mic and guitar signal through your Rang 3. The EQ allows me to tweak the vocal early in the signal chain as it is combined with the guitar signal OUT of the Rang 3 to the mixing board. Works flawlessly.

Hope this helps someone out someday when they are using their Google-Fu.

Cheers-

Thanks! Happy to share!

Forgot to mention, ALL of the above pedals are running off the CIOKS DC10. Some other forums imply that the amperage isn't enough for the Rang 3. It is.

That looks amazing! Love the built in stands!
My board is less impressive, but here's what I use.

I started off thinking "another pedal board, blah, blah, blah...," but that's pretty slick. Nice job. Everything as ergonomic as possible.

Thanks fellas.

Kid- I’ve followed your posts as well. You post a lot of great pics and your board has a fantastic selection of pedals. I’m thinking of getting a red eye for a fly board. In fact I’m probably gonna just copy yours haha

Puerto- thanks. Ergonomics born out of necessity. I kept stomping and mashing the wrong darn switches . The gap on the bottom of the GXT allows me to quickly place my foot without looking to hit short harmonies while singing as needed. It also give Easy access to my Rang button 4 which I use as a stack and play/stop all.

You’ll love the red eye. I run my entire board through the effects loop. It makes everything sound so much better. Great job on that board.
