You're killing me, Hen, I'll never be able to catch up. I'll try, though

Hey Karl,

Don't worry it's not a race...... and if it were I think Bob Singer would win. I beleive he's got more Stehrs built or to be built than anyone else. I just like working with Joel to try new things (like the cutaway bevel on this guitar, or for that matter this whole 00 model which is a first for Joel).

Aloha,

Ben

Hen,

absolutely gorgeous, I really like the dark woods, and the bevel is great. Amazing progress also. And I really like the striped sinker tops.

A cutaway bevel would be a waste for a player like me, though , unless it was a three-fretter

Thanks Rick, It'll be neat to have this Stehr and your Gwaltney in the office at the same time to compare! Who's do you think will be done first?

Hi Hen.....I just let Rick know that my bandsaw broke today, I ordered the parts to fix it but it might be a few weeks, so this is going to delay me just a bit....but I am sooo close.

Cheers,

Hey Hen,

WOW - all I can say is WOW.

This looks like it's going to be an amazing piece. I agree with the choice of markers. You really have to admire that fingerboard, it looks beautiful. I love the dense look of the macassar ebony and I think it's great you went with the understated looks. This is really one of the more exciting build threads as I've never seen macassar used on both the b/s and the fingerboard. The beveled CW is something new to me as well. Do keep us posted, I like your style man!

Hey Greg, sorry to hear about the band saw. I guess Rick will just have to wait a little longer - I can tell he's gettin excited, like a kid on Christmas eve! Do you have an idea on when we'll start on mine - give me a month to target for the start of the build, so I know when to seriously begin thinking about the details.

Thanks! Its always a fun process to go through and to see if the guitar ends up matching the picture and voice that one has in mind. BTW - did you get in contact with Scott and was he able to help you out with the Gotohs?

You know I e-mailed him a few days ago and never got a response

Is he an Ebay dealer? What's his homepage?

I don't believe he has an eBay store, but his eBay ID is domo_intl - you might want to try contacting through eBay.

Default It Looks Like A Guitar!

Latest pics in from Joel....he'll be working on the inlays next; the Stehr leaf logo for the back and the Hula Girl series inlay for the front.

That is a wild set of grain on that fretboard!

Nice complementary bevels on the armrest and cutaway.

It's looking beautiful.
