I have owned 4 carbon fiber guitars, and still have 3 of them, which I bought from other AGF'ers through the Classified section.

All 3 were within your price range, so keep an eye out for a used one...

My OM1000N2 arrived and I am very happy with it in the short space of time I had to try her out. The sustain is incredible and the volume much more than I expected for a slim bodied guitar. I also can't believe how light the guitar is and it is very well finished.

I have read that the tone of RainSongs tends to be balanced and I would agree with that assessment. The bass is "clean" if that makes any sense and the trebles crystal clear.

I plugged her into a Fishman Loudbox and she howled like a wolf but the phase button soon dealt with that issue.

This one is a keeper I reckon!

Minstermarce-- Awesome! Iʻm glad you got a keeper!
Yes, oh yes mine has no problem with volume, and you summed up my thought nicely.

Way more than two around here..... Just notice how infrequently they come up for sale used. There are some folks that don't bond with a Rainsong (or CF in general) but for most of us they are "keepers".

For all the great responses so far.

When I'm referencing the "school me" line it is literally just that...I know zip about carbon fiber guitars.
Being that I live in WI. ive come to a point in my guitar life (20+yrs.) that i'm tired of the dreaded humidify/dehumidify continuous battle. Lol!
And it is a battle. We can go from -2 and dry to 62 deg. and super muggy in a matter of hours or days. Meanwhile the all wood or lam guitars are just freaking out.

I've just gotten to a point Id rather play and simplify. No more sponges, humidifiers, dehumidifiers....ugh!

I'd like to start from the beginning....

What are the most important things to look for in a CF guitar?
Id like to stay at about 1K - 1500....

Is this price point even possible?
Are there certain things to avoid?

Once again thank you so much!
Hello Chris...I just took a look at our AGF classifieds for the past week or so, and found these listed by our members...

Rainsong P12 Pewter $1375 (Jazzbonk)

Rainsong Black Ice $1875 (Bluside)

Cargo White $950 (bobn)

Journey OF660 $800 (riorider)

Emerald X-20 Quilted Maple $2900 (Bob Dill)

I wish I could buy Any of them, but taxes come first...sigh...LOL...

I hope that I haven't missed anyone...

"It plays wonderfully, amplifies well on stage, is quite loud, and is impervious to humidity and even most temperatures."

What he said.....

I love not having to keep my Rainsongs in their cases - they hang on my wall waiting for me to pick them up anytime, and I live in a fairly hot, humid place.

Yep. I have three very nice guitars, but only the RS stays out on the stand. Just returned from a desert camping trip with music friends, and it was soooo nice not worrying about my guitar.
