Default For Watch lovers: If Guitar brands were Watch Brands

Yeah I know it's silly and a first world topic, but I'm sure there are some watch enthusiasts out there, so during this difficult time, let's have some fun.

Match a guitar brand to a watch brand. In other words, if X watch brand was a guitar, it would be ____ guitar brand. You can choose any guitar or watch brand you like.

Here is a quick example below:

Martin = Hamilton

Taylor = Omega

Olson = Rolex

Collings = Tudor

Yeah - you are right. Not intended. I just can't think of another major "American" brand that has their stature.

Breitling and Takamine sure don’t belong in the same sentence! More like Bourgeois and Breitling!

Some nice watches and nice guitars already, but noticeable by it's absence so far.

Which guitar is Patek Phillipe?

That's an improvement on the OP, except for Takamine-Breitling as others have pointed out.

Perhaps Taylor should be Breitling. I don't think Tag-Heuer gives them enough credit.

Epiphone is Hamilton, maybe.

Yamaha-Seiko is scary accurate.

Eastman would be a high-quality homage watch brand like Steinhart, although that doesn't do justice to the scope of Eastman's operation.

Guild would be akin to some third-tier Swiss make with good stuff and a long history but without high end name recognition or respect. Eterna?

Washburn -- Bulova?

Larrivee is Oris, for sure.

Ovation is Rado, doing it their own way with unconventional materials and no apologies.

Probably a lot of ways to distribute high-end boutique guitar makes among Patek, Vacheron, Audmars-Piguet, etc. I don't know enough to connect them more closely.

This is fun!

Okay, I'll play:

Martin = Rolex
Taylor = Breitling
Gibson = Omega
SCGC = Blancpain
Froggy = Patek Philippe
Bourgeois, H & D = Panerai
Collings = IWC
Olson = H. Moser & Cie.

Nice thread. Some ideas...
Martin... Hamilton.. Always rehashing the same stuff, but good stuff.
Taylor.. Tissot.. pretty, but consistent, but nothing interesting.
PreWar guitar comp.... Steinhart copying old designs as a core business.

Good comparison. The mechanical watch customer is every bit as irrational as the vintage guitar customer.
