Default I’m surprised...

I was SO excited to find a compact wireless system at this years NAMM that works reliably and with excellent range with active pickups but I feel there isn’t much buzz about the product.

I guess it’s on the expensive side at $299.99 and a lot of players are using passive pickups but I am blown away by this product!

One small downside I have noticed with the G10 and most wireless systems is that they can add a bit more background noise than if I just use a cable. Nothing crazy bad but just added hiss. I notice it more when using a guitar amp. I think it might be the fact that the wireless system is working like a buffer, which can add some hiss.

I am definitely going to check these out. To be honest, even the new Line 6 G10S didn't get a ton of marketing. Maybe people are just not that interested in these types of things? Just look at the Boss or Xvive, there's a bit of chatter online but hardly any reviews. There was a Boss WL thread over at TGP that quickly fizzled.

My next purchase is the Xvive U3. I hated the U2 but if the U3 is quiet then I can see tons of applications for it. Obviously having a wireless mic is awesome but being able to place a speaker anywhere without a cable is pretty awesome. I also play bodhran (celtic drum) and have a clip on Sennheiser mic. Having an XLR cable attached makes the whole set up uncomfortable. The U3 could definitely help.

This has no hiss. I have the XLR version as well. The Boss has too many issues and the U2 had too much noise.

They the Sennheiser!

Yes it also works great and you can even pair the XLR transmitter to the 1/4” receiver or vice versea.

How does it compare to the Xvive U3? I know you said the U2 was noisy but I have heard nothing but good things about the U3.

What is the input impedance?

did you try it with your James May Ultra tonic pickup equipped guitar?

I’d say it’s about the same. I just like how the Sennheiser is interchangeable.

I have not but I presume it will work the same as the Xvive.

Does anyone make a usb cable that could charge a transmitter and receiver at the same time? I know 2 separate cables aren’t a big deal, was just curious.

I believe Xvive ships their wireless units with that exact cable. I bet you can find one online on amazon for cheap by searching. It won't be the Xvive one but just a generic company.

It needs to be USB A to two USB C. I have been looking for one but can not find it.
