Default 3 guitar purchase options

Hello All, So Music Emporium has 3 intriguing USED instruments for sale that I’m getting interested to consider, they are.
* Martin 000 28EC 2019. $2400.
* Collings 001 mahogany top 2019. $3400.
* Collings 002 HT. Traditional. 2020. $4500.
I am primarily fingerpicking...

Since a dream guitar of mine is a 000-28EC, that's my vote.

$2400???

Mental note, "go check out music emporium today." LOL

ETA... I would also not spend an extra grand for a mahogany topped guitar. Seems like a step down IMO. And is absolutely an apples and oranges comparison tonewise.

What he said. If I could find one in Canada for the price, I would grab it really fast.

I love my 28EC but you`d need to try `em before you decide what`s right for you.

I dont like the EC neck but a 00 will have a smaller sound and a hog top will be quieter. None of the options would work for me and I only fingerpick, not blues or jazz or Travis either.

I was in the piano business for 35+ years as a piano tech. and restorer but also had a piano store for many years so I always used to caution customers that “there will always be another piano up fo sale” when they got pressured by other piano dealers to buy TODAY while stocks last, yeah right!.
So here is the Emporium site www.themusicemporium.com and there is on the 000-28EC a “notable check on the finish close to the neck that is hard to show in photo”
I’m going to call just to see if it’s still available.

It seems like you have some more thinking to do before deciding which guitar will best suit you. The 000EC is a fair bit larger than the twoo 00's, with the additional bling to boot. The smaller and plainer mahogany topped Collins, which would be my choice, is a fair ways from the Martin.

Perhaps, as suggested, a road trip is in order.

might have a 1 13/16 nut on the 002 HT. Really nice for finger picking. Is the T a 12 fret or 14?
I have a Martin 000C with a mahogany b/s- the comfort and feel is fantastic. It’s probably my overall favourite guitar by a smidge.
I have a Collings 002H that’s easily my best built guitar.
I would go with one of the two spruce top options.

Agreed. Three pretty different guitars at very different price points.
While that's a decent price for the EC, it's not exactly a screaming deal. And they're pretty commonplace... there'll be more coming down the pipe.

Agreed! I contacted Emporium and here’s a surprise , not! all 3 are still available. So out of curiosity (and a lazy Vermont day!)I looked at new MSRP of the 3 and the 000-28EC from Maurys is at $3759, the Collings 001 mahogany is $5925 and the Collings 002 HT is $5725 both these at Emporium.
Thanks Cliff for PM and the T is a 14 fret.

The 00028 is used and it's a good price but I think you're comparing MSRP & MAP in there somewhere with the other ones.

Just because they have them, doesn't mean you should buy them.

Avalon, Furch, Brook, Lakewood, Larrivee, Northwood, Taylor...... and the list goes on. All choices I would consider before the models you listed.

The hog top 001. I watched the video. The sound on that one is a finger pickers dream. Good price too.

I really like everything about the 000 28EC except for one thing...

the massive shooting nerve pain in my left thumb when I play one.

Which is my way of saying, the V neck on the EC is something you really should play before you consider buying one.
