Paul Asbell at La Conner Guitar Festival - wow!
Hope this is the correct place to post this
At the La Conner Guitar Festival we were treated to a Fox acoustic guitar showcase by Paul Asbell. Sitting just six ft away he gave us a masterclass in fingerstyle blues, jazz melody chording and lead soloing. Yep, all that in 30 minutes. GREAT player, & very inspiring! He started with Whin'n Boy, then Stardust, Sunnyside of the Street, and ended with that Elvis train tune. Each piece performed in a contrasting style to the last. Awesome to stumble across a guitarist worth getting excited about! http://paulasbell.com La Conner is a beautiful town and guitar festival by the way.

Did you get any photos you can share, Casey? There are a few over on custom shop thread, but most of the luthiers are too busy to play photojournalist.

"Amos Moses"
Paul is an outstanding guitarist and a nice guy. I've been able to take a couple classes with him at Swannanoa and found him to be enjoyable and very helpful. If you get the chance, go see him. The man can play!
