Thanks, guys.

I'll try to record this tune with the "Tree" SJ and the Petros, possibly sans capo.

Incidentally I just blew my set of headphones which I had been using for at least 15 years. Blame it on Andy's music...

Thanks again for listening!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to string up my SJ BRW with mediums -- and downtuned my guitar by a full tone.

Here's another version of my latest original, "Whispering Echoes", this time tuned down and sans capo.

Wow, are you using effects or does that guitar have more overtones than 10 Goodalls in a room?

I've never played a Goodall so I can't really say -- but I'm using plenty of effects, yes.

Sorry for the late reply -- and thank you for listening. Hope the holidays were good to you...

I had a long and busy week at work and finally managed to spend some time with my guitars over the weekend. After a good meal at my favourite Syrian restaurant, I went home, rolled up a fatty and sat behind the mics for a solo jam session.

While I did not mean to publish anything (as evidenced by the noisy background), I still pushed the record button just to take notes, closed my eyes and played away.

As part of my "Late Night Improvisation" series, here's an excerpt of three minutes and change. This is by no means a proper recording but I wanted to share the mood with you -- and hope the glitches aren't too distracting.

Thanks, Dennis.

I cleaned up the noodling and gave it a title, "Rigel" (I used to be into astronomy when I was in grade school).

I've owned this SJ for over a year now and still fall in love every time I pick it up.

Very beautiful, Mau! I swear.....got up this a.m. for my usual routine which always includes AGF and a thought occurred, "gee Mau hasn't put up anything in a little while". And there you are with a posting......very cool.
Your melodies are always haunting and unanticipated. Mentally, I always try to anticipate where you'll take a next section of a song with what you're doing, and you always change it up and take a more interesting and melodic path! Just great!
Best,
Fred

Thanks for listening, Fred. I've been playing quite a bit and working on a few drafts. This other tune I'm working on is fairly aggressive. I also learned Leo Kottke's "Stealing" but it still needs a lot of polishing.

Probably because I'm often wasted and don't really know what I'm doing...

Lovely tune monsieur le mau(i)... I must admit to getting a slight case of vicarious picking hand tendinitis just listening/watching. Very nice control.

All the very best, berf

Thanks, Berfie...

I took a few hours to rehearse "Hana" by Masaaki Kishibe -- a tune I first became familiar with thanks to Brian's superb rendition.

Here's another recording featuring my favourite SJ:
