Default Need Suggestions on a Crossover

I'm fairly new at playing a guitar. I have a classical guitar with a 2" nut and a flat fretboard. I like nylon strings and the sound they make, but I would prefer a guitar with a fretboard of about 1 3/4" width or slightly more (about 45mm to 46mm) and a radiused (about 12" radius) fretboard.

BTW, I don't play classical music. My interests are more like country with a hint of bluegrass and perhaps some old rockabilly and gospel songs. I know there are many steel string acoustic guitars that are suited for this, but I just prefer the sound of nylon strings.

I'd like to keep the price under $700 if possible.

Any suggestions or comments? Thanks.

I think you'll be quite challenged to find a nylon string guitar with a nut width smaller than 48mm. That's the smallest I've seen them go. I believe Cordoba makes a couple of guitars that fit your requirements. Maybe this one:

Taylor nylon-string hybrids (the least expensive of which is the NS24ce with a street value a few hundred more than the opening post limit) have a nut width of 47.6 millimeters (1 7/8 inches).

Cordoba and Fernandez have crossovers less than your posted $$$. I just bought a Cordoba it is comparable to my experience with crossovers from Taylor or Breedlove.

In your price range, a cordoba will be hard to beat.

+1 on the Cordoba; the Fusion models would be the ones to look for.

You may want to check out the Yamaha NTX line too. They have a radiused fret board and ~ 1.75" nut width.

On nut widths, make sure you check the manufacturer's specifications. Most popular crossovers have 1 7/8" or 48mm nut..

Just got a store demo cordoba fusion 14 RS off of eBay for well below your advertised limit. If you're just looking to get your feet wet (like I am), it's definitely worth a look - PM me for more info - I think the same seller is selling more of the same.

Thanks for the info on the Cordoba Fusion. Since I already have a classical guitar with a 2" nut, I don't want to buy another just to get a slightly (1/8") narrower nut and fretboard. IMO, the slight difference in playability wouldn't be worth the expense of buying another guitar so similar to the one I already have.

Thanks again to all. I think I've decided to go in a different direction on my guitar purchase. I appreciate all the advice and comments.
