I've experienced that combined resonance, and this is a good reminder.

This NPR interview sheds some light on Julian's "getting in touch with your body" ideas. He's talking about tone here, but I suspect his issues with hand injury may also play a role. About half-way-2/3rds down in the transcript. I only recently heard he had struggled with focal dystonia:
