In the 70's I owned a TR-3 with SU carburetors that constantly fouled. But boy, did I love that car! Wish I still had it.

Please go buy a 2021 Jag F-type convertible, report back all the fun you are having with it, so I can live out my Jag dreams vicariously through your experiences.

am I the only one who thought this was a thread about a remake of Real Wives of Orange County?

I recently discovered Scotty Kilmer's YouTube channel. Now there's a man with thoughts on the wisdom of owing a high mileage Jaguar (or even a Jaguar with low or no mileage).

Iv'e had over a dozen, with some being over 250k. I am familiar with most models up to the X350.
Like all things they are what they are, but what they are not is comparable sixties cars or the old tired aphorisms. Not that it matters, as it seems the op has vanished.

A friend of mine bought a new Jaguar in 1985. With less than 200 miles on it he toggled a switch to change gas tanks...
The explosion almost tore off the rear end! He bailed out and thankfully survived. Then the same guy bought a new one just like the old one. Once again, with very low mileage on it he was cruising Highway 80 in CA when it started to rain. He turned on the windshield wipers and suddenly an arc of blue light crossed the windshield. Next there was the smell of burning insulation so he pulled over and bailed out... He watched as that car burned to the ground. Next stop was the Mercedes dealer. |
