Default Reaper Question

When ever I have a tracked armed and I hit record, the software does not recored right away and when it does it never at the same place in time. Is there a setting I have worng? I have set at the default setting of the program.

I had some trouble with this myself. THe latency was making it impossible to multi-track. I ended up having to do two things, the first was get a USB interface, M-Audio has a couple cheap ones that work well, the second was update my ASIO drivers. You can get them here:
