In one of my personae I am a stone carver. Samples:

I have glued stone a few times. Broken pieces, though they are rare. Mostly support pieces, i.e to attach pieces to a base. My recommendation is also epoxy, although I strongly suggest a marine epoxy.

There are many different types of limestone, so the porousness varies quite a bit. The most common types used for construction are Indiana and Cottonwood. Both of which take marine epoxy well.
