Having started, I'm not done looking for the Ovation AN13. I have fond memories of that guitar and will continue to look around for one on the market.

Found one on Reverb, not pristine, but possibly acceptable. I offered a way low bid and it was accepted. I might have some grief coming my way, but that's OK. The AN13 is a fond memory and a brief re-visit will be fun. And the admission price was less than the price of a good concert. Having fun here..................

Thank you Joe.

The Blackbird Savoy is not a guitar I would take camping or use in rough situations. The Ovation will be my beater and is also a re-search of an Ovation instrument. I always liked the idea of the composite back and sides and felt that Ovation made one of the best necks in affordable guitars.

The Ovation arrived and is as described; "excellent."

The Ovation somewhat resembles the Blackbird Savoy in sharing the same nut-width of 1 6/8", a short scale, and approximately the same volume.

The similarities make the Ovation an excellent beater fill-in for the Savoy. Going from one to the other is an easy transition.

the only difference is that the Ovation is sold as a nylon string guitar and the Savoy is sold as a steel string. Interesting stuff...........
