When Theo Epstein, then Joe Madden exited, the Cubs lost the source of their successes, IMHO.

On the bright side, they should get some high impact prospects. What’s the point of losing with veterans when you can be getting eyes on new talent?

Looks as if the team whose name I will not speak has over invested in sluggers. That’s the sort of knee-jerk management that wrecks a farm system. To do so while several games away from a tie for a wildcard berth is priceless considering the bone-headed ways they let decent players walk to dump salary. Gotta love a Steinbrenner.
