Here's a video I did a long time ago on the Ranchero style Grady licks.

I keep getting an error when I try to watch this.

Thanks I have tried a few times to get into jazz or swing and sometimes my head can follow but the fingers go to knots. Left hand muting is one of the challenges though with a lot of practice I made it through some chord changes, but nothing ever stuck. I may try some of this.

I used to work in Brisbane, CA during the late '90s-early aughts, and once in a while I'd have lunch at DeMarco's 23 Club, where that amazing album was recorded. The club still had the same look and atmosphere that it must've had c.1960 and it was so cool.

Now that I think about it, I think I saw Deke Dickerson perform there one night, which was perfect.
