Wow, the grain on the Claro really pops! It looks almost koa-ish - I can't wait to get my hands on it. I had a call with Steve yesterday - I'm sure he had a chuckle over it. I'm asking him about shipping dates next week! Haha - well - still have to join neck; add bridge; make tuning buttons; saddle; nut; string; adjust; relax!!! Ok, so I'm anxious. But it is close.

Haha, that is too funny, I can't blame you after those pictures. I don't know if this will be good or bad, I will be stopping by the shop on Monday and will probably get a peak at this in person. I am excited about that and it is not even mine although I may make an offer while there

He could ship it next week and you could make a shadow box for it and hang it on the wall as artwork as it is soooo pretty, but I doubt that was the end game here!

I'm glad you guys like it, thanks! Every time a box arrives from Tony it's like a birthday party in our shop.
We're looking forward to stringing this one up.

Steve

Woowoo! That walnut is stunning, and the redwood is a gorgeous color under finish. Can't wait to see the whole package put together!

It's amazing you get anything done with all of our criticism!!
Love your rolling commentary along with the photos. There are many stages in the construction process that are quite “ugly” and unnerving to me personally, though a necessary part of the process. It’s always a relief when I see the end result...at which point I laugh at myself and roll my eyes.

I’ve always had a negative emotional response to mess and clutter, and I never truly relax until I’ve got it “cleaned up.”

This guitar is truly turning out to be a beautiful instrument, and I can’t wait to see the finished product. Thanks for sharing, guys.

Joel

I saw this guitar today in person, it was all I could do to keep from knocking Steve and Ryan in the heads and running away with it. Unfortunately my midwest upbringing would not allow me to behave that way.

HOLY COW is that box a thing of beauty!!!! The colors are amazing, the top is beautiful and the arm bevel just striking. The boys did it again to say the least.

Thanks again, everyone, for your kind comments. And Tom, it was great to have you and your crew stop by yesterday--what a treat! I hope Natalie picks SFA to attend, as we'd get to have her stop by from time to time and regale us with her lovely singing.

Today we reintroduced the neck and the body to one another.
It went something like this:

And I must say, as good as the body looked, it's even better with a neck! Or...as good as the neck might have looked, it's way better with the body. This was so encouraging, we started the prep work for gluing the bridge:

What's happening here is scoring the finish to remove that piece of masking tape. We use tape to protect the top where the bridge will be glued. Tomorrow!
