Wow, that's a work of art. I find the maple neck an interesting choice. Did you go that direction for tonal reasons, or was it an aesthetic choice? I like the way it coordinates in colour with the engelmann top.

Default Wenge OM

Thanks for the kind words, MBE.

I went with the maple purely based on aesthetics. I've never really been able to discern much of a difference in tone based on neck wood. Though I know some people claim it does make one. Either way it sounds fantastic. I'll try and get a soundclip on here.

Fine looking insrument. If it sounds as good as it looks, it should be a winner...

That looks interesting (in a good way) and quite beautiful!! I like how all of the elements tie in and work so well together. Would love to hear it, if you can post a sound clip.

I really like the look of the maple neck--it sets off the bloodwood nicely. Like the bloodwood fretboard markers as well--good stuff!

I like the maple neck, and wonder why more acoustics don't have them. How about a one piece maple bolt on....

Default Wenge OM

Thank you scholar, mikealpine, nemoman, an kirkham.

I really like the look of the maple necks as well. In fact I like anything other than the boring mahogany neck you always see. This is in fact a bolt on neck and I have a guitar I started a while back with a 1pc curly maple neck. If I ever get around to finishing it I'll put pics up but I got another guitar that is priority over it at the moment.

Got a soundclip together. Pardon the poor sound quality I don't have anything but my phone to record with. Also pardon the less than stellar playing on my part. Anyhow it still gives you an idea of what it sounds like

Default Asymmetry

Love your use of asymmetry. I suppose the cutaway could inspire the whole asymmetric feel. Nice job!

Love the maple neck. Mmmm...maple.

How would you describe the wenge tonally?

Default Wenge OM

Thanks Brad, that means a lot coming from someone as talented as you.

Thanks oddmanout. I'm not the best at describing the tones and such. And I'm not sure how much of the actual tone of the guitar comes from the wenge as opposed to the combination of everything but mostly the soundboard and bracing IMO. Anyhow this guitar has a sort of Indian rosewood sound but slightly brighter I guess. A little more sharp and clear in the notes as opposed to how EIR can be a little muddy sometimes.
