Default The Bricklayer's Beautiful Daughter

Anyone have accurate tab and/or an mp3 of this song? If so, I would appreciate an email!

Ahhh, in many ways the tune that started it all. Or at least financed the whole California guitar style in the early 80's. It put Windham Hill on the map, so to speak. I have a hand written tab around here somewhere. If no one else chimes in soon with a link email me and I'll mail you a copy. I remember it's in Perfect Fourth tuning, EADGCF, with the capo on the fourth fret. I think.

Got a fax # (no scanner in possession)

From the Will Ackerman Collection:

E,B,F#,C#,G#,D#, Capo on 5th fret.

Tried working on "Visiting" & "Seattle" some time back.

Wow, are you sure that’s for the same tune? It’s so easy to play tuned in fourths, I’ll often give it to relative beginners... EBF#C#G#D# seems like a brutal tuning, at least for the 5th,3rd, and particularly the 4th string...

If you can dig up a copy I would greatly appreciate it. I'll shoot you an email with my address.

Taken from page 15 of "The Will Ackerman Collection" published by Hal Leonard which includes "14 songs authentic note-for-note transcription & tabliture". Opening "Note" (forward) by Will A. himself. Guess I just assumed it is correct .

Wow, that still seems so wackey. I believe you, and the book, but it just seems so much more difficult. I'm going email Will to see if he still plays it that way. At first glance I thought maybe that was the same intervals, but wow, it all fifths! Yikes, not gonna tune my guitar that way

I tried to tune my guitar the way proposed above, and the fourth (G in standard) string promptly broke. Has to be a better way.

I have it in the Windham Hill Guitar Sampler book, tuning is (strings low to high - I think someone else posted this, but with the strings reversed)

D# G# C# F# B E

then capo V.

Note that this is just standard with the bottom 4 strings down a half step. I've played it going the other way, as Eric says: EADGCF (top two strings up a half step from standard), then capo IV. Works perfectly.
