Default Duck Duck Go

Any of you guys use this search engine? I bailed on Google because of their tracking and privacy issues and went to Bing. Now I hear that Bing does the same thing. Apparently this Duck Duck Go search engine doesn’t track your searches and sell your info to advertisers or whoever. Anybody here been using DDG? What do you think of it?

I use it and love it....little to no tracking or garbage ads, supposedly doesn't store personal info or use cookies.

For a lot of tech issues you should read the details vs risk bad information from poorly qualified sources. You can manage the privacy with Google and Microsoft and also realize some of what's tracked is quite harmless or can even be useful.

I use a few search engines because they work differently. Using the biggies as an example, there are times when Bing gets me the right result and at other times it's Google. Google mapping is just darn good. There are times when maps can make it the best choice or worst.

Also realize tech is fast and smart. A lot of people have really wrong ideas about today's Microsoft as a perfect example.

If you paranoia knob is really turned up you can use your VPN and search with your browser in private mode. Then we might have jokes about the people who bought VPN products that spy on them.

It’s okay, and seems to be improving. I think Google gives somewhat better results, but there’s not enough difference to offset tracking, user data mining, and privacy concerns.
