Default And I thought playing guitar was healthy!

I was reading a catalogue I got from Musician's Friend when this little 4x5 card flew out and read:
WARNING". Products sold here can expose you to chemicals which are known to cause Cancer and/or birth defects, or other Reproductive harm. (That means it's toxic to the ovaries and testicles)
Who knew those intoxicating scents in guitar cases, guitar finishes, mics, speakers, amplifiers, headphones, pedals, guitars and other string instruments, and everything you could think to find in a recording studio would lead you to bad health outcomes?
Cadmium, Phthalates, formaldehyde, arsenic, styrenes, toluenes, lead, nickel, bisphenols, antimonies, ethylene glycol, chromium, lots more.
As a holistic health care provider for 35 years, can't believe I didn't know this, as I use techniques to check for these chemicals and remove them.
Now, I don't think this is of global warming importance, but I would concur that many of my guitar/musician patients are chronically ill. I always thought it had more to do with the challenges of making a living/artistic satisfaction.
Maybe we should keep our guitar cases open a bit more, and open some windows!

I've never seen a card like that with my guitar catalogs or purchases. Do you know if they're including the card with some purchases?

I have seen that warning on online retailers websites while looking at guitars. Some brands have the warning and others don’t. I have notice that the less expensive makes have the warning.

New California laws require those warnings on just about everything.

Yeah, the same sticker was on my new leaf blower. I guess California wants to be sure I don't cut it up and eat it.

My son just got a catalogue for brass and woodwind instruments that had similar warnings on almost every page. I get warning people about real dangers, but I feel like plastering these warnings on items that may or may not pose any threat will lead to people getting desensitized and ignoring the warnings completely and missing real problems.

They need to be posted here. The most toxic, disgusting excuse for "food" I've seen since the Olive Garden.

It is nothing new
I remember being astounded at the Circle with the bar through it on Nail gun boxes showing a Guy on a latter holding a nail gun point down on the head of another guy below him on the ground
Which I guess was saying don't rest the nail gun business end , on your helper's head
