Hey Bro. Phil,
Yeah I'm looking forward to hearing/seeing the video of "The Wheat".

I can hardly wait to hear and play this guitar. Tim does seem to do magic with Honduran mahogany. I hope my guitar compares well to yours after everything I have heard about "The Wheat". I'm sure it will be fantastic.

Kendall

Thanks for the kind words Phil. Your statement reminds me of a quote from one of my mentors who told me " You have to work really hard, to build a bad sounding mahogany guitar". For a long time that comment didn't really sink in because I was too busy building with eye candy or trendy tone woods. Then I found Mahogany or rather it found me.

The more I build with Mahogany ... the more I [want] to build with Mahogany ... if that makes sense?

I really do need to get into a more updated century. It just might not be this one.

Yes, Phil. The mahogany boxes seem to be loud and clear. Maybe we should invest in an ear plug company if you gents are going to keep ordering these loud boxes.

Ok. I was able to get the second demo song video uploaded that Ken Bonfield played at Healdsburg, but not yet the first.

I've posted it on the build thread: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...90#post3628590

Not to detract from Kendall's thread at all - just to give you something to listen to while you scroll through his build pictures!

Thanks all,

Phil

This picture shows the figuring of the Honduran Mahogany. It only has the sealer applied and I'm looking forward to seeing the finish applied. You can see what looks like bear claw and the silking. I liked it because it was different.

Well, that picture looks better than mine did. I'm glad you could see it.

I thought this was a good picture of the back. It really shows the figuring:

Tim has started working on the neck and headstock.

I like the figuring on the back of the headstock:

Todd looks like he would be a good boss. Not in the least bit worried about the guy handling your guitar..

It's easy to "not be worried" when you have almost no knowledge of what the other person is doing!

Kendall, I think you are going to be one happy boy when you get this in your hands. The woods you've chosen and Tim's magical bracing system will make you smile big every time you pick it up!

I'm sure Todd! If it's anything like the McKnight sitka/Mahogany 12 fret 000 that I played, it will be absolutely awesome. In the beginning I wanted to use a more rare back and sides, but after talking with Tim, we decided to go with Honduran Mahogany and the 59 Sitka. I was at peace with my choice as soon as it was made and now I just have feelings of anticipation.

Just chiming in to say I absolutely love your wood choices on this guitar, including the rosette design and how it's carried over to the end block and headstock. The entire package is very very classy!
