Default Rooting For You (new mic!)

Greetings!

Finally purchased a LDC-style mic for Mrs D. Wanted to record a song that would focus on (and test!!!) her vocals. This is a crazy-hard song to sing by the amazing London Grammar, but think she made a fab attempt.

As usual, no auto-tune, just my wife + a rather lovely Greenfield G2.

Enjoy

Joel

Wow.....oh, wow......Joel. Just sat here transfixed with the song and the moment. The song has so many accidental type notes.....they just land in unexpected places.....don't know how she got them all! As you say.....a fabulous job. When will you guys hit the concert circuit?
Your background playing as always.....superb.
Great way to start my day!!!!
All the best,
Fred

Haha thanks Fred. Sadly no concerts just yet, day job + a baby doesn’t leave much time!

Hello Joel,
Great job!!! Your wife has a lovely voice and the Greenfield sounds just fine. It's a wonderful gift to be able to share a mutual musical passion with your significant other.
It would be nice to know your signal chain, i.e. mikes, preamp/interface, DAW, etc..

Trevor

Thanks Trevor. It is indeed a lovely hobby to share.

My setup is rather basic:

Greenfield G2.2 -> Neumann KM184 -> Apogee Duet
Voice -> Rode NT-1 (the new mic!) -> Apogee Duet

That’s it! Some simple editing in Logic (I’m by no means an engineer) et voila.

Joel
