Please don't delete the thread. Answers would be useful for others who have the same question you had and interested in how you managed to get it sorted out.

Yep not a bad idea, so I'll post - I was getting some piezo soundboard discs installed by my luthier but he rang me saying there wasn't enough room in front of the pins. An Eastman E8OM (fantastic guitar btw) - it is a two disc pickup so we chatted a bit and decided put one either side of the two E-pins. I pick the guitar up tomorrow - like this

OxxxxxxO

instead of this

xxxxxx
O......O

where the x is the pin holes and the O are the disc.

Probably fine but I panicked for a moment and went internet bonkers.

Thanks for re-posting, tdq. Salved my curiosity.

Pickup placement can be critical. I would expect that between the bridge and the end of the guitar would have the greatest signal strength, but who knows how mellow the sound would be or how "true" to the acoustic sound the electrical signal would be. Without a LOT of experienced judgement, trial and error seems to be the norm.

yes, will be interesting to hear what you think once you hear it plugged in.
I've installed several K&K systems with good results, but followed their very explicit instructions.

I'm no high-experience guy with these, but did play around with two-sided tape and was surprised at how much difference placement gave. The K&K folks really have it figured out, as their recommendations certainly yielded the best results. Then when glued in, it was even better.

Some guitars don't have enough bridge plate to accommodate K&K Pure Mini transducers, although the newer ones are smaller in diameter than the older ones. The closer to directly under the saddle location the better.

K&K has instructions for allowing a slight overhang in their installation instructions. It's free to download, so worth the effort to read.
