Awesome. Everyone should have J45 sometime in their lives IMHO.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Played it for not nearly long enough today but over the moon with it. Daft thing to say maybe, but it sounds like a J45 should sound, that unique dry, woody thing that is unmistakable.

It was a real punt this one as it was ordered online with no playing, I didn't even know what year it was but the black nut gave it away to be 2014 or later. The action has been seen to and is perfect. Only niggles are the aforementioned nut, would like to get that changed to white bone and it has sharp edges and the B string is a little 'fizzy' but on the whole, it's a belter.

It may be sacrilege, but I'm now considering moving my '65 D18 on

Beautiful burst, Gomers. I reckon you’ll hold onto this a while. Don’t be too rash with your D 18, though. It’s getting hard to find 60s Martins. (Until the boomers start seriously downsizing).

I know Jim, my D18 has tons of vintage vibe coursing through it, it's just I'm beyond pleased with the Gibson and would probably reach for that 75% of the time. My 000-16 is also a bit special too and I'm not nearly a good enough player to hold on to the D18 for pure mojo reasons alone. We'll see

Great guitar...I just got one myself.
It's a J45 fun-fest extravaganza around here lately.

I ended up selling my Martin OMJM to fund the purchase of my NOS 2017 J45 Standard. I thought I'd miss the OMJM but I really don't. The J45 has its spell on me. At some point I may add a different Martin at some point in the future...maybe...but I'm am insanely content with my J45. I reach for it now all the time.

Got a nice one, Gomers! I'd use MusicNomad F-One fretboard oil and darken the fretboard and bridge.

My oldest is heading off to college this year, so a new J45 is on a distant horizon for me. I can live vicariously through you guys.

It's crazy to me that with all of the "hit and miss" stories with Gibson over the years that so many forum members have been able to score some killer J-45s of late! SCORE!!!

Love mine!!!

Love mine!!!

Mine was built in April.
Perhaps the hints of the coming spring in Bozeman lifted everyone's spirits at the plant and their joy translated into wonderful guitars.

Congrats. You got a beauty there...

The J-45 is so versatile and I love the slope shoulder body and short scale.
